--LW Kristian Huselius scored his third goal in four games and his eighth of the season, but he wasn't too pleased after a 3-2 loss to Phoenix on Wednesday. Huselius blew five other scoring chances and fired four shots wide or high of the net.
--RW Derek Dorsett left Wednesday's game against Phoenix after suffering a broken finger in a first period fight with Coyotes' winger Dan Carcillo. The club placed him on injured reserve immediately after the game and listed him as "out indefinitely."
--G Steve Mason went 113 minutes, 3 seconds without allowing a goal, the longest streak for a Blue Jackets goalie this season. Mason's streak ended when Phoenix's David Hale scored midway through the second period Wednesday.
QUOTE TO NOTE: "We're not ready to win. We're not ready to win on a consistent basis. That's the bottom line. When you outplay teams this badly, you put them away. We needed to put our foot right on their throat. That's what we should have done." -- Blue Jackets coach Ken Hitchcock, after a 3-2 loss to Phoenix on Wednesday in Nationwide Arena.
