--The Blue Jackets' power play has taken heat all season, but the penalty kill hasn't been sharp, either. On Thursday, in a 3-2 loss to the San Jose Sharks, the Jackets allowed two power play goals for the third time in four games.
--Fredrik Modin's third-period goal on Thursday marked the 15th straight game in which the Blue Jackets have scored in the third period.
--Blue Jackets general manager Scott Howson said the club will continue to carry three goaltenders -- Steve Mason, Pascal Leclaire and Fredrik Norrena -- for the next two or three weeks. Norrena hasn't played in over a month, but it's unclear if he'll be released or demoted to the minors when the club is convinced Leclaire's injuries are behind him.
QUOTE TO NOTE: "We didn't outwork their goaltender. We had a chance to win the game, but we didn't outwork their goaltender. We'll be back for more." -- Blue Jackets coach Ken Hitchcock, after a 3-2 loss to the San Jose Sharks on Thursday.
